Excursion to Scotland & England

Our amazing journey began on 14th September when we entered the coach and set off under the care of Mrs. Joanna Raźniewska, Mrs. Anna Buscicchio, Mr.ArturSzymczak and Mr.ArkadiuszWickiewicz. Firstly we headed for Amsterdam. During our short stay in “Venice of the North” we had a chance to visit famous Rijksmuseum and go on a cruise on the canals, which became the symbol of the city.Amsterdammers turned out to be very friendly and open-minded people, just like their city – associated with liberality and tolerance.
The next point of our program wasa trip on a ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle upon Tyne. Before we arrived to the coast of the United Kingdom, we had spent 17 hours swimming on the North Sea . In the morning we could admire beautiful sunrise over the sea horizon. After we had arrived, we finally had our first real English breakfast (which was, of course, delicious).
As soon as we had finished our meal, we moved forward to Hadrian’s Wall, Roman defensive fortification built almost 2000 years ago. Then we went to Glasgow, known as “Second City of The British Empire”. In the most populous city of Scotland we saw St.Mungo's Cathedral, Town Hall and many others. And it was just a beginning…
During the next days we visited many important touristic destinations such as: Stirling Castle where several Scottish Kings and Queens had been crowned, the National Wallace Monument, Loch Ness and located on its shore Urqhart Castle, Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus, EileanDonan Castle, Glenfinnan Viaduct which appears in Harry Potter series and breathtaking Glen Coe valley.
After sightseeing days, we arrived to Edinburgh. In “Athens of the North” we visited Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace – official residence of the Queen of the UK in Scotland, the Royal Mile, St. Giles Cathedral, The Scotch Whiskey Experience, Edinburgh Castle and the Scott Monument. Moreover, we had an opportunity to meet our graduates, who now study and live in thecapital of Scotland.
The last stay of our journey was London. Walking on the crowded streets of the biggest  city of the UK was a thrilling experience. We could feel “the heartbeat” of this vast, multi-cultural metropolis when we were visiting the most popular sights of London: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, the National Gallery situated on Trafalgar Square, the Buckingham Palace, the House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and London Eye.
Eventually it was time to go home. Although it was a huge pity to leave the UK, we were missing our families and, of course, our wonderful school.
